there were sixty students present during the interactive session. the topic of the session was

CAREER FROM A CORPORATE PERSPECTIVE

He stated that there  are no interviews which  question the recruits about preparing final accounts, posting ,prepare journal entries of the company; In this current corporate scenario, companies prefer those who are capable enough to learn new things and implement it in the decision making for the company

He said that marks matter to a certain point but what matters more is your capability of learning with an open mind understanding and working on things which are not taught in the books but are a very important part of life, thinking out of the box and being creative.

He admitted that he was never one of those students who sit and study during lectures instead he preferred participation and entertainment in anything apart from the syllabus.

He told us that during his   college days he appeared for Chartered accountancy foundation exam i.e CPT and couldn’t clear it in the first attempt; but the marks he scored made him realize that if he would have studied well then he could have  scored better and pass the exam.

This not only made him realize his leniency towards his studies but also his capabilities.

He taught us some very important terms in the corporate world:

Pitch presentation:

pitch presentation is a line of talk that attempts to persuade someone or something ,with a planned strategy of product or services designed to initiate and close a sale of the product or service.

Round of finance:

“A” round of financing is the first major round of business financing by private equity investors or ventures capitalists . In private equity investing, an “A”round, or series A financing ,is usually in the form of convertible preferred stock. An “A” round by external investors generally takes place after the founders have used their seed money to provide a “proof of concept” demonstrating that their business concepts is viable and eventually be profitable.

Angel Investors:

An angel investors is an affluent individual who provides capital for a business start-ups , usually in exchange for convertible debt or ownership equity. Angel investors usually give supports to start-ups at the initial moments and when most investors are not prepared to back them.

“Success is the sum of small efforts made day-in and day-out.”
